Bow String Fraying Around Peep. it's a little frayed, but fine to shoot. i recently got a new bow set up and noticed some fraying around the bottom of the peep in the attached picture after sighting it in. gas bowstrings string tech, aaron adams, goes over how to tie a peep. Have about 60 shots through it. the most common reason for bowstrings to fray around the peep is because the peep may have a small burr that digs into the bowstring and damages it. You can do this from either the top or bottom cam, but the peep will rotate a bit less with. Fix it with a lighter and some wax as previously instructed. just had my bow shop swap out the 1/4 peep on my bow for a 3/16 g5 meta peep. if my string starts to fray around the peep, i trim the strands and add a dab of gel type super glue and rub it lightly into the string.
